The Twinkling Palm Tree Bringing Ramadan Cheer To Our Home

If you’ve read my article about “Ramadan Trees,” then you know that many Muslims around the world are looking for a way to bring the magic of twinkling lights and evergreens into their home.

For our home, we chose a pre-lit palm tree. There is a hadith that talks about the significance of the date palm tree in the Prophet’s (ﷺ) life.

“There was a trunk of a date-palm tree upon which the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recline while delivering Khutbah (sermon).  When a pulpit was placed in the mosque, we heard the trunk crying out like a pregnant camel. The Prophet (ﷺ) came down from the pulpit and put his hand on the trunk, and it became quiet.” [Al-Bukhari, Source)

I thought it was a beautiful homage to the love and dedication that surrounds our beliefs.  The palm tree sits in a cozy room where we read and also is a gathering spot for our gifts. Our family has transitioned from giving money to giving gifts on Eid day.

The adorable Eid gift bags are from Hello Holy Days, which is best known for her collaboration with Crate & Barrel.

If you’d like to add this to the mix this year or next. Here is where you can buy the palm tree:
