It’s Black History Month, which means a new coloring page addition to my Black Muslim History Month Coloring Book. This year, I added a coloring page about Olympic Medalist Ibtihaj Muhammad. A few years ago I read The Proudest Blue, a book Ibtihaj co-wrote with S.K. Ali, and was beautifully illustrated by Hatem Aly. I am so grateful to have this story to teach my small children to be proud of who they are, and also how to deal with a world that sometimes doesn’t accept differences. In this picture book, Ibtihaj shares the story of a little girl who sees her older sister wear a hijab for the first time. There is so much joy and wisdom, this book will make you feel all the feels.
You can find the full list of my coloring pages below! And The Proudest Blue is available for purchase on Amazon and your local indie bookstore!
